Professional Sports Performance Coach Marc Megna visits MBK Media

 Posted: Feb. 19, 2013

It's not every day you get a chance to meet someone who has truly embraced life's obstacles and completely dominated.  Marc's story is one of true inspiration and the MBK Media crew was extremely blessed to hear him tell it in his own words.

"What can you do for someone who can do absolutely nothing for you?"  That's what Marc asked us.  "Treat everyone like that!"  And when it becomes really hard to help that person, then that's when it matters the most."  Marc also explained  the importance of submerging yourself into whatever it is you want to do in life.  "The most successful people that I've ever met do not own a televsion.  They don't watch televsion because they're too busy being successful!"

Thank you Marc for the special visit and we hope to see you again soon!

Bambadjan Bamba visits MBK Theater and Film students

 Posted: March 6, 2013

What a great experience to have one of your own come home and inspire the youth.  That's exactly what Bambadjan Bamba did when he stopped by Meadowbrook HS while he was in Richmond, VA, to screen his short film, PAPA, at the Byrd Theatre for the Richmond International Film Festival. Bamba, MBK class of 2001, stressed the importance of being prepared when your time comes.  He talked about working with some of the most well-known celebrities in Hollywood and how his preparation helped him overcome being starstruck and ultimately led him to success.  I think John Wooden said it best: Failing to prepare is preparing to fail!  Bamba's film is receiving praise from critics all over the country.  Be sure to check out Bamba's next big moves as he ascends the ladder of success in and on the SILVER SCREEN!  Check out the gallery and a clip of Bamba's work here on www.mbk411.com! Special thanks to Bamba's lovely wife for visiting with us as well!

Check out Edgar, Devon and Adebiyi as they venture out into the hallways of Meadowbrook H.S..  Edgar and Devon are in TV/Film Production Level I and this is their first shot at putting together an informational news segment.  Both young men are naturals and you will start to see them on our regular 411's in the very near future with their new segment, Around The Halls.  Great job Edgar, Devon and Adebiyi!
*Special thanks to Mr. Seiler and Ms. Brown for offering their time and resources for this segment!

MBK Media joins Dr. Seldow for technology presentation!

 Posted: March 23, 2013

Dr. Seldow, Executive Director of Technology for CCPS called on MBK Media to create a video promoting the benefits of technology in the classroom.  This particular project highlights the use of Edmodo, a social network geared towards building a safe and educational relationship between teachers and students.  But, we already know that students love technology . . . so this video presents the teacher's point of view about technology in the classroom.  After completing the project, MBK Media students joined Dr. Seldow at the School Board Work Session this past Friday, March 22, to help magnify the importance of not only Edmodo, but more importantly, technology as a whole.  MBK Media showed out and represented MBK very well.  The individuals in attendance considered our video production to be of professional quality and our etiquette and behavior to be very professional as well.  We couldn't more proud to have been asked to be a part of this presentation.  Great thanks to Dr. Seldow and the CCPS School Board for allowing us to represent MBK and display the skills set and techniques we have learned in our TV/Film Production Class!!!
